PACER alternativies for Canberra Excursions

PACER Announces New Alternative Activities For 2021

The Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) Program is without doubt a major driving force behind many Canberra school trips.

As you will likely know, to be eligible for the PACER rebate, schools must complete four mandatory activities: visit Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy, the & National Electoral Education Centre, and the Australian War Memorial.

However, with over 160,000 students visiting Canberra every year, these attractions book out early! And in anticipation for an extra busy 2021 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, PACER have announced some more alternative activities to ensure there are plenty of options for schools.

Multiple programs at the National Capital Authority have been added as alternative PACER options. These include the How We Remember: ANZAC Parade memorials tour; The Story of Canberra program; and the Reconciliation Place Tour.

In addition, Australian history exhibitions at the National Gallery of Australia and the National Museum of Australia have also been included. Head over to our Activities and Attractions page to check out more about these exciting activities.

Important to note: The optional alternatives can only be credited towards the PACER Program if the mandatory activities are fully booked at that time. Here at Canberra School Trips we can help you sort everything you will need to ensure your school receives the rebate.
